Minister Jagadish Reddy gives approves for up-gradation of KGBVs

Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy has given nod for up-gradation of 84 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) to Class IX and X from the next academic year. There are 471 KGBVs, of which 88 run till intermediate education, 303 till Class X and 84 till Class IX.


Reddy who took charge as Education Minister on Thursday, also signed a file on procurement and supply of uniforms for the students in Classes I to VIII in government, local body, aided, KBGVs and Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society schools of 31 districts at an estimated cost of Rs 74 crore. These uniforms will be supplied to the students before commencement of the academic year 2019-20.


Reddy also gave nod for constitution of district level committees for each erstwhile district along with guidelines to complete the Teacher Recruitment Test-2017 process for appointment of teachers under various categories in government schools.


Earlier in the day, several officers of Education Department, universities, members of the associations including Government Junior Lecturers Association, Telangana, Government Degree Lecturers Association, Telangana, Telangana Private Engineering and Professional Colleges Managements Association, Private Degree Colleges Managements Association made a beeline to the Secretariat to meet and greet the Minister.
