TS Govt Workin Hard On 2nd Phase Metro Rail Project

Government of Telangana is keen on the taking the Hyderabad metro rail project up to airport. In this connection, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has asked the officials to work on the alternatives as well as mobilising the required financial resources for this, said  by Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited,NVS Reddy.


Speaking at the launch of Uber services from select metro rail stations on Thursday, he said the Chief Minister had already held discussion on the Phase II of the metro rail project. The Hitec City corridor will be completed by September this year, he said. 


Works on the Ameerpet-LB Nagar stretch will be completed by June end. However, the date when the commercial operations would begin has not been decided yet. That could be in June or in August, he said.On the delay in the project, the official said HMRL is using Communication Based Train Control System, being deployed for the first time in the country.


Earlier, ridesharing company Uber announced a partnership with HMRL to allow metro rail commuters book an Uber ride across all active stations for last mile connectivity. This will first be available at Miyapur, Ameerpet, KPHB, Begumpet and JNTU stations. Later, Uber will set up kiosks at 24 metro stations.Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the Government of Telangana will be keen to partner with multiple players for last mile connectivity. “The partnership is open for all. TSRTC too will have role to play,” he said.
